Paula is President/CEO of Alternative Dispute Resolution Forums. She has worked in the field of conflict resolution for over twenty-five years. She has served in the capacity of attorney, arbitrator, mediator and trainer in dispute resolution, and has mediated well over 3000 cases. In addition to private practice, Ms. Trout has provided mediation services for the Department of Homeland Security, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (Seven District Offices), United States Postal Service, Department of Energy, KeyBridge Foundation, Department of Interior, Environment Protection Agency, state and local governments.
Formerly a Commissioner with the Ohio Industrial Commission, Ms. Trout has extensive knowledge and experience in employment, workers’ compensation, construction, commercial and relationship disputes. Ms. Trout is a recognized trainer in Conflict Management, and has served on national dispute resolution boards, advisory councils & committees. Ms. Trout has also served on several boards and commissions. Additionally, she is also a Visiting Professor at DeVry University and Keller Graduate School of Management where she teaches negotiation theory & practice; conflict management in the workplace; principles of ethics; legal, political and ethical dimensions of business; business policy AND culture & communication.
